Learn about what we do at Cartecay UMC besides preach and teach. We love to be a part of our families, our friends and our community.

 

We work together

in our community.

Whether we are gathering in our sewing circle, cooking chickens for the BBQ and craft fair, painting the church or just dining together, we always enjoy and embrace the time to get together and fellowship or plan an event or talk about what we might do to help in our community or across the world.

 

We care about others

Therefore we serve.

At Cartecay UMC we love to help others. You might find us preparing food, building a fence, offering treats at Halloween in our Trunk or Treat event or hosting an animal blessings day. We love our Community Santa Party and working with Christmas Child Today. We have also helped out at Camp Glisson. We want to serve our community, our church family and others however we can find ways.

The Cartecay/Oak Hill Cooperative parish (consisting of Cartecay UMC and Oak Hill UMC) has moved to online services over Facebook Live.
We do have a direct link to the Videos page set up, and one only needs to look for the "LIVE" indicator to find the live streaming video.

Ministries & Education

Cartecay UMC provides an array of opportunities for spiritual formation through education:

Sunday School Classes offer Bible Study and Discussion each Sunday Morning at 9:00 am.

Confirmation Classes , taught by our pastor, teach our youth about United Methodist Beliefs and Membership.

Our Services

Sunday morning worship builds upon the traditions of the United Methodist Church, seeking to encounter Jesus Christ with joyful expressions of faith through music, responsive reading, scripture, and uplifting sermons.

The Christian calendar guides special services through the seasons, as we share our journey in faith through Advent-Christmas Epiphany and Lent-Easter-Pentecost.

Holy Communion is served the first Sunday of each month, and in other special services.

Music plays a special part in the services with a number of talented voices serving to glorify Jesus.
